Στις 20 Φεβρουαρίου 1930 η Επιτροπεία του Λιμενικού Ταμείου Θεσσαλονίκης παραλαμβάνει τις εγκαταστάσεις, τις υπηρεσίες και το προσωπικό του τελωνειακού λιμένα από τη Γαλλική Εταιρία. Το οργανόγραμμα καθώς και οι υπηρεσίες παραμένουν ίδια. Η Τεχνική Υπηρεσία της Γαλλικής Εταιρίας λειτουργεί πλέον ως υπηρεσία του ΛΤΘ. Ο νέος οργανισμός λειτουργίας του ΛΤΘ θα κατατεθεί τον Μάρτιο του 1935 χωρίς να επιφέρει κάποια αλλαγή. Ένας νέος και πολύ πιο πλήρης οργανισμός και κανονισμός λειτουργίας κατατέθηκε στις 16 Νοεμβρίου 1939. Η σημαντικότερη αλλαγή ήταν η ενίσχυση της Τεχνική Υπηρεσία καθώς ορίστηκε ως ισοδύναμη με τη νεοπαγή Υπηρεσία Εκμετάλλευσης. Η αλλαγή αυτή υπηρετούσε το προσανατολισμό του ΛΤΘ ως λιμενικός οργανισμός τεχνικών έργων.
Με τη συγχώνευση ΛΤΘ και ΕΖΘ, η Τεχνική Υπηρεσία ΕΖΘ ενσωματώθηκε στην πρώην τεχνική Υπηρεσία ΛΤΘ με βάση την εγκύκλια διαταγή αριθ.13 στις 11 Ιανουαρίου 1954 με προϊστάμενο τον Ιωάννη Παπαδόπουλο η οποία εξελίχθηκε στις κατόπιν σε Τεχνική Υπηρεσία ΕΖΛΘ. Με βάση την ίδια εγκύκλιο διαταγή, η Υπηρεσία Γερανών του τέως ΛΤΘ ενσωματώνεται στο Τμήμα Μεταφορών της τέως ΕΖΘ, ενώ το τεχνικό μέρος, δηλαδή η συντήρηση και η επισκευή στην Τεχνική Υπηρεσία του τέως ΛΤΘ.
