Στις σελίδες των πρακτικών του ΔΣ του ΟΛΘ σκιαγραφούνται διάφορα ζητήματα που απασχολούσαν τον τότε οργανισμό, ΕΖΛΘ. Στις συνεδριάσεις αναλύονται τακτικά υποθέσεις αυξήσεων και συντάξεων, διενέργειας και εξέλιξης διαγωνισμών, ανανέωσης συμβάσεων και γενικότερα θέματα που αφορούσαν την υλικοτεχνική ενίσχυση του φορά. Υπάρχει σταθερή αναφορά στην αγορά υλικών, μηχανημάτων, εργαλείων, εξοπλισμού με χαρακτηριστικό παράδειγμα την συζήτηση για αγορά γερανών. Εξίσου σημαντικές ήταν και οι συζητήσεις σχετικά με κατασκευές στον χώρο του λιμανιού όπως αυτές για την εγκατάσταση νέων μεταλλικών υπόστεγων, για τις κατασκευές αποθηκών, λιμενικού φυλακίου και γενικότερα άλλων δομών. Μεγάλο κομμάτι καταπιάνεται επίσης με την συντήρηση-διατήρηση των υπαρχουσών υποδομών με κύριο παράδειγμα τις φορτηγίδες (με παρουσία του Νομάρχη στις συζητήσεις), αλλά και με την προστασία της περιουσίας της εταιρίας μέσω της ασφάλισης της (λ.χ. πλωτός γερανός, ρυμουλκό). Ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζει το τμήμα των πρακτικών που πραγματεύεται την επέκταση της παραλιακής λεωφόρου και την κατάσταση όσον αφορά τον κρηπιδότοιχο. Το σημαντικό που διαφαίνεται από αυτό το θέμα και από μία σειρά άλλα, είναι η σχέση του ΔΣ με την πολιτεία, το κράτος. Η διασύνδεση φανερώνεται από διάφορες περιστάσεις που αναλύονται στον τόμο, με πιο χαρακτηριστικές τις αρχαιρεσίες για την εκλογή προέδρου, αντιπροέδρου και εκτελεστικής επιτροπής και της συζήτησης για την Ιχθυόσκαλα. Στην πρώτη περίπτωση το αποτέλεσμα της διαδικασίας τίθεται υπό ένσταση και ζητείται η διαμεσολάβηση της Νομαρχίας προκειμένου να διευθετηθεί, ενώ στη δεύτερη το καθεστώς και η λειτουργία της Ιχθυόσκαλας διαμορφώνονται -μεταξύ άλλων- σύμφωνα με την πρόταση σχεδίου του Υπουργείου Βορείου Ελλάδος. Εξίσου σημαντικό -που προκύπτει από αυτές τις συζητήσεις- είναι και το γεγονός ότι στα πρακτικά πολλές φορές παρατίθενται έγγραφα, επιστολές, σημειώματα και αντίστοιχα τεκμήρια που έλαβε το ΔΣ (όπως το διάταγμα του Υπουργείου Συγκοινωνιών και Δημοσίων Έργων προς τα λιμενικά ταμεία). Στο ίδιο πνεύμα βέβαια αποτυπώνονται και τα οικονομικά στοιχεία της εταιρείας (πχ.. ο προϋπολογισμός για το έτος 1957). Μάλιστα σε συνεδρίαση του ΔΣ ανοίγει το ζήτημα της αναλυτικότερης καταγραφής των συζητήσεων. Τέλος μερικά ακόμα θέματα της ημερήσιας διάταξης που απασχόλησαν την εταιρεία και παρουσιάζουν ενδιαφέρον αποτελούν η ανέλκυση ναυαγίου στην περιοχή της Νέας Μηχανιώνας, η οριοθέτηση της ΕΖΛΘ και η διαμόρφωση ανατολικής προβλήτας, η ανανέωση της σύμβασης μεταξύ της εταιρίας και της ΔΕΗ, η συζήτηση πάνω στα τιμολόγια και η απόφαση για την κυκλοφορία τους σε ξένες γλώσσες, η απαλλοτρίωση και η μίσθωση χώρων, η εκποίηση αζήτητων και η αποζημίωση για εμπορεύματα, η ανασύνθεση του υπηρεσιακού συμβουλίου η καταβολή δώρου Χριστουγέννων.

The EZLTH BoD Minutes for the first half of 1962 include a variety of subject matters. During meetings, the members handle unwaveringly cases of recruitments, salary increases, retirements, promotions, resignations, contract renewals and filling vacant posts. Furthermore, major issues are various purchases, such as tools, materials, machinery, equipment in general, as well as relevant procedures, e.g., public tenders. However, a number of other issues present equal interest. The Minutes depict the solid focus on construction and restoration issues, the most characteristic being:

1. Participation in public tender and supervision of SILOS establishment-installation routing
2. Ongoing discussions concerning the construction of metal shelters, an issue related to a series of developments in the area of the Organization’s storage policy
3. In the Minutes pages we find the General Director’s proposals regarding scheduling and developments of construction works, fixing-installing machinery-tools, reconstruction of the railway network, the coastal boulevard improvements and relevant financing (discussion regarding loan availability).
4. Furthermore, along the same lines, there is a reference to the port reconstruction through the demolition of the army warehouses and the creation of quay wall, the works’ completion at the Fish Auction House, as well as the developments of the quay construction and modernization of the water supply and electricity networks.
   Apart from modernizing the infrastructure, we find references to the possibility of reconstructing the operation along the OLP (Piraeus Port Authority) lines, whilst the fact that the city port through the Tariff offered can attract the interest of USA export companies is mentioned. Generally, the Minutes outline the interest expressed by companies from abroad for cooperation, since there were allusions to the possibilities of establishing companies from abroad in the port area, and not only companies from the European Common Market. Besides that, similar requests are expressed from local companies, and are discussed extensively at some point, since the overall increase of the port traffic was not made obvious only through the port’s infrastructure development, but also through the ongoing discussions regarding upgrading the storage Tariff.
   Finally, of great interest are the financial issues that occupied the interest of the Organization. On one hand, we have the listing of basic issues:
   • Financial Report and Balance Sheet for 1961
   • Budget of 1962 and reformations
   On the other hand, we find references to overtime and plot divestment issues, the new storage invoice and related discussions, charity actions and issues related to the overall upgrading of the port infrastructure.

Τα πρακτικά του ΔΣ της ΕΖΛΘ για την περίοδο 15/7/1961-12/1/1962 καλύπτουν ένα μεγάλο φάσμα της καθημερινότητας του λιμανιού της Θεσσαλονίκης. Σταθερά στην ημερήσια διάταξη των συζητήσεων είναι οι υποθέσεις προσλήψεων και προαγωγών, συνταξιοδοτήσεων και ανανεώσεων συμβάσεων και αλλαγές σε μισθούς και συντάξεις που παρατίθενται αναλυτικά για κάθε πρόσωπο, είτε σε μορφή κειμένου, είτε με αναλυτικούς πίνακες. Αντίστοιχα, γραφήματα και τεχνικές λεπτομέρειες παρουσιάζουν οι διαγωνισμοί και οι σχετικές αγορές εργαλείων, μηχανημάτων, εξοπλισμού, υλικών, οχημάτων και υλών που ήταν απαραίτητες για την λειτουργία του λιμανιού.
Αυτό που παρουσιάζει επίσης ιδιαίτερο ενδιαφέρον είναι οι σχέσεις που ανέπτυσσε ο οργανισμός. Ενδεικτικά μπορούν να αναφερθούν:
• Η απαλλαγή της Εταιρείας Μακεδονικών Σπουδών από τα τέλη αποθήκευσης και η παροχή μηχανημάτων για διεκπεραίωση αναγκών φορτοεκφόρτωσης που είχε, κατόπιν ανάλογου αιτήματος
• Η διάθεση πλωτού γερανού στη Ναυτική Διοίκηση Βορείου Αιγαίου για την ανέλκυση ναυαγίου
• Η παροχή εκσκαφέα στο δήμο για εργασίες του
• Η διάθεση πλεονάζοντος σιδηροδρομικού υλικού στους Σιδηρόδρομους Ελληνικού Κράτους (ΣΕΚ)
• Η αποζημίωση της Οθωμανικής Τράπεζας για απαλλοτρίωση οικοπέδου
• Η παραχώρηση στην εταιρεία Magnomin αποθηκευτικών χώρων
• Γενικότερα οι παραινέσεις της πολιτείας όσον αφορά την διευκόλυνση εγκατάστασης βιομηχανιών στους χώρους του λιμανιού και οι σχέσεις που αναπτύχθηκαν με εταιρείες όπως η VON BAUM HELLAS
• Επαφές με εταιρείες για άλλα θέματα όπως με την περίπτωση της ΤΙΤΑΝ ΑΕ
• Οι συζητήσεις αναφορικά με την ικανοποίηση αιτημάτων του Συλλόγου Ναυτικών Πρακτόρων
• Η δημοσίευση στον τύπο πρόσκλησης εκδήλωσης ενδιαφέροντος για προσφορές σε SILO
Γενικότερα εντός του τόμου δίνεται μία εικόνα για το «άνοιγμα» της εταιρείας στην κοινωνία, όπως με τις δωρεές για πρωτοβουλίες που προήγαν «εθνικούς σκοπούς.
Σημαντικό αριθμό σελίδων καταλαμβάνουν και τα ζητήματα εργασιών στο λιμάνι όπως:

1. οι συζητήσεις για την εξέλιξη των εργασιών στην ιχθυόσκαλα, ενώ όσον αφορά την προβλήτα, οι συζητήσεις σχετικά με την χρηματοδότηση του έργου
2. η βελτίωση των υπαρχουσών εγκαταστάσεων και ο σχεδιασμός πλάνων για νέες

Μάλιστα, όσον αφορά αυτά τα θέματα, στις σελίδες των πρακτικών μπορούν να εντοπιστούν και αναφορές, όπως η έκθεση προς την εταιρεία «οδών και Οδοστρωμάτων».
Τέλος στη θεματολογία των συνεδριάσεων, εκτός όπως τις οικονομικές υποθέσεις, όπως η αναμόρφωση του προϋπολογισμού του 1961, ενδιαφέρον παρουσιάζουν και τα ζητήματα λειτουργίας του ΔΣ. Η τοποθέτηση νέου διευθυντή και οι αρχαιρεσίες για εκλογή προέδρου, αντιπροέδρου, τακτικών και αναπληρωματικών μελών και η διαμόρφωση της επιτροπής ελέγχου, είναι ορισμένα από αυτά.

The Minutes volume in question deals with various issues. In the BoD meetings’ agenda, we find very frequently cases of recruitments and contract renewals, promotions and payments to be made, purchases of logistics/technical infrastructure and arrangements made to resolve everyday problems. However, from time to time, we find the officials in charge taking actions for the resolution of a broad range of problems and issues. The financing of the Fish Auction House and the intension of ATE (Agricultural Bank of Greece, to participate in the construction and of appropriation the specific project come up often, as well as other projects running concurrently, namely the Lancashire quay. The meetings, generally deal with the development of constructions at the stables, the quays, other installations and structures, e.g., water supply and electrification. Also, we find constant references to the SILOS supply, the development of the works undertaken at the coastal boulevard, the plots’ divestment-expropriation and the respective compensations. Also, an issue of great interest are the technical studies for the construction of shelters and a warehouse for flammable materials. Of the same importance are various other cases and issues dealt with during meetings, such as the stevedoring conditions in general, and more specifically of steamboats carrying ores, the maintenance and insurance of equipment, the terms and conditions of leasing. Furthermore, the relations with companies, e.g., the discussion regarding the renewal of cooperation with company “POSEIDON” and the approval for the FRITZ STARK factory’s installations to be established in the Free Zone of Thessaloniki. We also find constant considerations around the issues of salaries, wages and pensions formation. Issues regarding the Organization’s staff, on behalf of which arrangements were made concerning their allowances and holiday bonuses. Even more, our attention is drawn to the proposals and following discussion regarding the 1961 Budget, with detailed analysis on the existing problems and their handling. The increase and reduction of revenue, due to major projects and dated Tariff respectively, open the issue of pressing need for shaping new Tariff prices. Also, various other financial issues appear (Financial Review, Balance Sheet), which are listed in the Minutes and displayed in the form of tables and diagrams. Finally, the BoD members addressed the issue of the Statistics Bulletin edition, the promotion of the Port work through the Press, drawing up memorandums and the appearance of relevant material regarding Organization issues, as well as elections taking place.
